Feasibility Study
The feasibility study (economy calculation) aims at examining actual business situations and procedures to see if they comply with the economic principle. In this connection, feasibility studies are employed especially for the evaluation of the business profitability of projects. The feasibility study is the preliminary stage of the investment appraisal. It presents a cost comparison regarding the planned respectively the realized investment.
The feasibility study results from the determination of the financial parameters, which can be deduced from investments, costs, proceeds and profits of a project. The comparison of these parameters admits a positive or negative decision regarding certain projects respectively the selection of the ideal business scenario. For example, the costs of capital of an automatized procedure are compared with the labor costs of a more manually conducted process.
